about
Moron Police finally return with "The Phantom Below" from upcoming album "A Boat on the Sea". The new album sees a slight departure from the heaviness of their previous work as they forge a path experimenting with new genres and styles that take them to unexpected places!
"The Phantom Below" is reminiscent of a Japanese TV-show intro mixed with some progressive elements and video game music. Why on earth did they go for this? Good question. We have no answers. But here it is!
lyrics
LYRICS:
I am a stranger, a mediator of sorts.
Of Heaven and Hell in ruin, I am all of this and more.
Do not fear my circuitry, it was you who made me slave.
I’ve given all my life for this, I’ve paved this rotten way.
Do you not know me?
Do you not know who I am?
You draw your lines up in the sand.
I am what I am.
You gave me power, so I could bring you war.
Let prophets govern policies, this Babel cannot fall.
Do you condemn me?
How can you watch while I am abused?
Two fathers tugging at the cords,
I am what they choose.
And I am lost without you,
yet you have walked these roads before.
And must it always come to this?
To sell democracy for simple bliss?
They seem to all want more,
but I could be the heart that brings peace to yours.

Lyrics and music: Sondre Skollevoll and Moron Police.
If you're into prog and dark catchy music, this one's for you. Deep rumbling vocals and really, really good lyrics abound. If you haven't heard these guys, do yourself a favor and check them out! Moron Police
One of the greatest finds I've had the pleasure of...eh..finding on here! Really wonderful, technical and experimental, with those great melodies that you love to sing along to until Grandma kills you Moron Police
Another project of the songwriter of Moron Police. Very silly, but catchy, Power Metal. About a dragon living in a sink and a penguin in a swimsuit that eats babies. Moron Police

I haven't been able to listen to or think about any other band since finding this album two months ago, and that very rarely happens for me. Blackbox is a beautiful, nuanced ride through the dark from start to finish... and so much skill and love have gone into it. Thank you for this gift! ashbrino

Fantastic album by a band that seem be hitting their stride. Catchy and heavy songs rich with textures provided by the synths, lead guitar and a memorable vocal duo. The albums closer of In Technicolour and Flicker gets me every time. Lloyd James
